Healthy Eating

You can take from this section as much or as little as you feel ready to.  What this means in practice is that you can opt to make one small change or several.  After reading about the impact of gluten on health you may choose to omit gluten from your diet.

Alternatively, you might decide to switch to organic foods or replace cereals with less sugary alternatives.  I have been modifying my diet over the past 15 years, making changes in line with my increased knowledge of nutrition.  It is important not to be overly ambitious at the start but rather ‘polepole’ as they say in Swahili meaning ‘slowly, slowly’.  If you start small your changes can grow to become big.

There are some health conditions that can improve significantly from dietary changes.  This section will look at certain common complaints and what foods have been shown to improve or aggravate them.
